Surgery Day!

I had a good day off and again got a lot done around the house yesterday. I also went to school and found out about graduation. I should get my diploma in 4 weeks and then go to the ceremony Dec 20th at Tropicana Field where the Rays play! Then I went to Michael's, Target and Home Depot and a gift shop. We had gift cards to all these places so it was fun to shop. I also had my surgery yesterday. Sean was able to take me. He got a little queasy watching them cut me open and he could see tissue, fat and muscle, but he is such a good sport and a loving husband. I got 18 stitches and it hurts! They are sending it off for tests. The other biopsies last time I was there came back normal! YAY!

Grown-ups

It was so nice to have the day off yesterday with my gorgeous husband. We went to church. Then we met Auntie M at the town home so she could see it. We came home and did a lot around the house and had a very good long talk and put some songs on the iPod. Then we drove down to Clearwater Beach and Sand Key. We ended up at Shepherd's. I hadn't been there in forever and Sean had never been there. We had fun and it was definitely a good place to people watch. I could have done without the 10 dollar parking charge and the 8 dollar cover, but it was still a good time. It is just one big party and the people there are a little too (OK, a lot) too crazy for me and Sean. Let's just say that the girls there were acting more like they were dancers at a strip club than at the beach chilling. 93.3 was there live. But, any way it was entertaining and the view of the water was nice. I am glad Sean and I are not like that. I totally used to be, but I sure have calmed down a lot and changed. At times I think I may be boring, but yesterday made me realize I am not boring; we have so much fun and it doesn't include getting wasted and making a fool out of myself, which is a really good thing in my book. I don't know what was so attractive about going out and partying in the first place, but I sure did like to do it all the time. Not no more. We would go back to Shepherd's again for a beer, but that's about it. Anyhoo, after that we met Dave and Michelle and Paul and Tanya and the boys at Shells. It was a good day!

Super Busy Saturday

Yesterday was B-U-S-Y! Sean worked. I got a ton of stuff accomplished around the house. Then I went to Publix and to get a man/ped. After that, I went to the Humane Society to volunteer and then to meet dad at the mall to go shopping. Sean and I took dad to the town home and he got to see the progress inside and out. In only one week a lot more has been done there. I am loving it! We have tile floors and bathtubs and hardware and the garage door and opener and our AC unit. It is just so exciting. Then we went down to Dave and Michelle's for dad, grandma, uncle Paul and aunt Melinda's birthdays. We had a cookout. It is really nice to see Paul and Tanya and the boys. Sean and I got dad a digital camera for his BD. I think he really was super surprised. Amy and Butch were also there from Orlando and that was a surprise and great to see them, as well.

With the new work schedule, it has been a little difficult to figure out how to juggle everything. Before with working from home and I could take breaks to do errands and chores. Now, I wake up, workout, make B-fast and lunch, shower, get a little bit done around here, go to work, come home, eat dinner, sleep, repeat. So, on days off it seems like I have a mile long list of things I have jammed full into my day that need to be done that could not be done on workdays. Welcome to the real working world huh! I'll get there.

Oh yeah, Mike (mom's Mike) went to court on Thursday and got the divorce from his wife.......ex-wife! We are so happy for them. They can have a divorce party. I guess that is the new in thing to do. Weird.

Shane and Christa

After work last night, Sean and I met up with Shane and Christa at their hotel room in Tampa. It was so good to see them and man o man do I miss her much! We drove over to Channelside. It was raining really bad, to the point that the streets were completely flooded and looked like lakes. It did finally stop though. We went to Stumps to eat, talk, have a drink and listen to music. The band was awesome. It was two guys that looked kind of like Hansen, but they were totally cool. They sang everything from Bob Marley to Alicia Keys. It was crazy, but awesome. We took them back to their room after that and got home about 11 last night. Sean had to work this morning. They were here to go to a funeral. I hate that it wasn't under better circumstances, but it was so nice to see them. I think they are doing really well. Shane is still in the USMC and Christa is working and finishing up her masters and they just got a house (HUGE - like 2000 sf and brand new) and two puppy dogs. These are the things I miss about military life. The friendships are like no other. We rarely talk, which I hate and wish to change, and haven't seen each other in almost 2 years, but when we got together last night it was like we had never parted ways. I am certain that me and Sean and all of our friends are all bad at keeping in touch and it stinks! Any way, here are some pics.

Travel Safely!

We got Libby the dog back and she seems to be doing well. She is a little confused and has had a rough couple of weeks, but she has definitely improved from the last time she was here.

Sean got a promotion! He is head manager and received a raise! I love him! Congrats baby!

After work, we went to Island Way Grill with mom and dad 2. We had a fabulous dinner and a great time. I love that place.

They are leaving today. We had a great time visiting with them.

Life's a Beach

Sean, the in- laws and I got sandwiches to go and headed out to Honeymoon Island to catch the ferry to go to Caladesi Island (the #1 beach in the US). We laid out and walked along the beach, collected seashells and went swimming and had a picnic. Then we went down to Clearwater Bch and walked around, went out to the pier and ate dinner on the beach at Frenchy's. We took them by my uncle and aunt's to see their gorgeous house and then by the Dunedin Cemetery to see the peacocks. After that, we dropped them off at their hotel, came home, showered and crashed! What a perfect day! It's back to work for us now.

It's A Beautiful Day!

We took Sean's mom to our church yesterday and she really enjoyed it. Meanwhile, Sean's dad, my dad, my uncle and a family friend played golf.

After church, we visited Faye at the hospital. She is looking and feeling better and should be going home soon.

Then Sean, Mom2 and me went to eat at Molly Goodheads.

Then we and Sean's dad went to Tarpon and walked around the sponge docks and went in the shops. We did wine tasting at TS Winery and we showed them the house we almost bought.

After that we went to dinner at Casa Tina in downtown Dunedin and then went to Bon Apetite and sat by the water and had a cocktail and watched the sunset.

It was a totally good day!

This morning we got a lot done around the house.

I registered for fall semester. I am only taking a 1 credit course (vet tech medical terminology) since we both started new jobs and will be packing, moving and getting settled into our new home......and hopefully getting pregos! :O) wink wink. I start back to school Aug 25th. I have a nice break!

Eating b-fast and have a busy day ahead with my hubby and my in laws. It should be fun!

This N That

I worked my first Saturday, which I believe went pretty well! I was manning the front all by myself. They said they didn't even notice the front, which is a good thing because that means I was taking care of it. It was really busy! I didn't even have time to use the restroom for like 2 hours and then it took another two hours to venture to the kitchen, get a snack and eat it while working! I like Saturdays though, they really aren't bad. I finally closed the drawer right, too! I still have a ton to learn, but yay!

Faye had the tubes removed and she has been moved to a room and out of CCU. I am hoping to go visit her today.

Sean's parents arrived yesterday. They are staying in downtown Dunedin. We both had to work yesterday and they arrived in the morning so they were pretty much on their own for the day. They came over and saw the house and we hung out here. Then we went and showed them the town house. It looks so different since before we left for Arizona! We have walls now and windows, doors, more fixtures, the back deck is almost done, there is paint inside and out. We are really excited. After that we met up with my dad and grandparents at Capogna's.

Graduate......soon!

Oh yeah, I finished up my summer class and received an A. I also applied for graduation for my AA......yay.......finally!

Fired?

Well, news on Faye is they took her tube out yesterday, she breathed on her own for 1/2 hour and then started having trouble so they put it back in and they are going to try again today to take it out.

No news on Becca. She has an MD app on Monday.

Sean is going to Orlando today to the other office to train some more, but will be home this afternoon.

Christa and Shane are supposed to be here next Thursday until Saturday to attend the funeral and hopefully we will see them.

Libby was taken to another vet and diagnosed with a bladder infection and cyst. She is on antibiotics and is at home and if she is doing well, then the estranged husband might be bringing her back today.

Dad had a place removed from his tummy (a not so good mole). He is doing well. Got 7 stitches.
At work yesterday I was sure I was fired. Leigh Ann was like "they need you in the back" and I thought oh no the only reason they would need me back there is to fire me, so I go back there hesitantly only to find all my coworkers and the docs singing Happy Birthday to little ol' me and I got a cake and everything and a card and gift certificate to Starbucks. I was totally surprised and a little freaked, but it was really cool.

Happy Friday!

Back to normal, whatever normal is.

We both were back at work yesterday and had good days. Very busy! Sean got news that he will probably be head manager. Yay! We will know for sure after a few weeks of more training. He will not be getting the 60 dollars stolen from him back, but the guy who did it did get fired. We got like 6 paychecks when we got back from vacay, so that was nice and much needed.

Still no news on Libby the dog that we were pet sitting and she was peeing blood every few minutes. She was supposed to come into the clinic, but missed the appointment (both of them) and I think was going to the ER.

Faye is doing better. She still has the tubes down her throat. They tried to remove them yesterday, but couldn't. They are going to try again today. She is gaining her strength back and getting frustrated that she can't talk b/c of the tubes.

Christa and Shane have a funeral to attend in Tampa, which is not good of course, but hopefully Sean and I will be able to visit with them. They are in our prayers. We have not seen them since we moved from Cali.

Becca, Joel and baby had some issues and Becca went to the ER yesterday. I am waiting on news from that. Prayers to them, as well.

Still missing mama lots. They have had CPU problems still and trying to get that all worked out.

Gotta go!

Home Sweet Home (yah right)

I don't even know where to begin. Let's see.......

Yesterday we went to the Tucson Sonora Desert Museum and Zoo, which was awesome. It was all outdoors, some indoors. It is actually in the real desert, which is neat. The animals were cool. See pics below. I even went in the reptiles museum and looked at snakes (in cages). But still, go me!

Then we went to the airport. I was extremely sad. We got flagged to be extra checked by security before we had even gone through security. So we did the normal security checkpoint and then we had to go behind a glass wall and be patted down, our bags searched and tested for explosives. Meanwhile, I was crying. The lady thought because of this, but really not. Then, we also find out our flight from Tucson was running late and would not get us to Denver in time for our connecting flight, so they changed our airline and put us on a plane that left way earlier so we had to rush to make our flight from Tucson. Instead, it went to Dallas Fort Worth where we had an over 2 hour layover. We got food and drink at Fridays. We got home around one this morning. I have been doing lots of crying. I slept crappie last night. The jet lag is crazy. Who knows how I will feel tonight or tomorrow for work. We have been playing catch up with everything around here that had not been done for 2 weeks. What fun. Oh joy.

Then, I get a call from Toula, my friend Faye's mom. Faye is in the hospital. She was sick, developed pneumonia, choked on her vomit while asleep, was unresponsive and white and was rushed to the ER on Saturday. She almost died. Now, she has been sedated, intubated and has had a PICC line since then. We need to go visit, BUT ..........

we had 2 dogs to pickup for pet sitting. We got them from the vet clinic where they were being boarded. One of the dogs Libby has had a UTI, but was being treated and was supposed to be better. She's not. We brought her here and she has been peeing blood for the past 2 hours every few minutes. Poor thing. A family member is on their way to pick her up.

And I need to take my final for class tonight. My mind certainly is not with that right now.
