Ryan's 3rd Birthday!

We celebrated Ryan's birthday on Friday, although his birthday was yesterday, April 29th, but I was working yesterday. This is Honeymoon Island.  We took him to the beach on Friday to kick off his birthday!

Hunter was a little unsure and unsteady on the sand!

Look at that face!!!!!!!

Ryan had a blast!  We rarely take the boys to the beach so we need to try to purpose to do so before we become landlocked in July!

He was not too interested in posing for Mommy!

We haven't done one of these classic shots in a long time!

Hunter had a lot of fun digging in the sand, too

Love the toes

Our view from our lunch table

Ryan didn't sit with us because he was cold after being in the water. He sat in the sun on the steps. Yes, I did say cold in 85 degree weather.  He is a Florida boy through and through.  What will he do in TN!?  Birthday hotdog!

And birthday chicken stolen from Hunter

Birthday cake.   It's a monster cake.  We have a children's birthday cake book and he looked through the whole thing and this is the one he wanted.  I LOVE it.  I thought for sure he would pick the firetruck or basketball, but nope.  It was super easy to make.

We had his party in the evening at Chuck E Cheez with some of the family who could attend.  We had a great time, enjoying pizza and cake and playing lots of games!

He blew and blew and blew those candles!!!

Hunter LOVED the cake.  Ry ended up eating one of the monsters' arms (a Blow Pop) and like none of the cake!

Pappy and Ryan have the same grin :)

Second attempt a little better

Present opening time

I can't believe he is 3 already!  It's gone so fast.  Thinking of those first few days and the joys of being a new parent and holding our first child for the first time.  Those little toes and little fingers.  And the new baby smell.  What a blessing and we are so grateful and thankful to God for giving him to us.  And so like yesterday when I was driving to work I was thinking about his birth day and crying and now typing about it, I'm about to cry again!  Happy tears of course.  He has gone from a teeny tiny to a little man with his own personality.  It is so amazing to watch him grow and learn and develop.  I pray that he continues to grow strong and healthy and that he learns to love and obey God with all of his heart, soul, and strength.  I pray for his safety and for his love for others.  I pray for many (many, many, many) years of being with him.  OK, I am going to end here.  I don't want to smear my mascara!  Ryan Nicholas Brewner 04/29/09 7 lbs 12 oz 5:16 pm (and yes I called him from work at 5:16....maybe the start to a new tradition).  :)  MOMMY AND DADDY LOVE YOU!!!!!!

Clapping to the Beat!

Hunter LOVED the music at Chuck E Cheez and was clapping and dancing most of the time!

Sharing Scriptures

Psalm 119:160

160 All your words are true;
all your righteous laws are eternal.

Deuteronomy 6:4-7

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Mark 13:31

31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

I thought I would share these three scriptures that we are memorizing this week for our Bible study group. I was thinking about Deut 6:4-7 and how the most important thing that I want to see in my childrens' lives are them loving the Lord with all that they have and loving others more than themselves. That is what I hope, with God's help, Sean and I can provide for them. I feel like I fail often, especially in the area of leading by example, but my prayer is that God helps us everyday so these little ones can truly know their Lord and Savior. This scripture tells us to talk with our children all the time about God and his goodness. Some of my greatest joys come from seeing Ryan pray or Hunter saying "amen" after prayer time or Ryan saying "godnight God" over the monitor before he falls asleep at night. The other things are fun and amazing.......first steps, first words, things of that nautre, but nothing can compare to the gladness in my heart when our children are learning about the Lord and growing closer to Him.

Here are some more pictures of the twins. These babies are becoming the stars are my blog! lol Only kidding. I'm glad I can do this for our family that maybe wouldn't see them otherwise. Plus it's always more fun to blog about someone else than myself or my children. Well, I do like to take pictures and talk about my kids!!!! lol Soon we will be there to see my cousin and meet the little guys. She finally got to hold Alex! Umm, I think that's all I know. Oh, Matthew gained some weight. :)

Blanket Time

I thought I had posted about blanket time, but I couldn't find the post.  Any way, here is proof that it can work.  The idea is to have special toys and a blanket and the children can sit quietly and play while the mom and/or dad are doing something else.  It can be especially helpful when trying to pack (what we were doing last night) or when cooking dinner, etc.  The way it works is by getting really excited, saying IT'S BLANKET TIME!, getting it out and sitting with the child for five minutes.  If the child gets up, tell them to sit back down.  Work on this until it is mastered and then increase the time and also stop sitting with the child, but keep an eye on them.  Eventually, they should be abe to sit quietly and entertain themselves for up to 30 minutes.  Our children (mostly Ryan) usually last about 15-20!  Idea taken from The Duggars. :)

My Grandma and Father are non-Facebooker's, but they do follow my blog, so I am copying pictures that my Aunt has posted on FB so they can see since my cousin is in Orlando.  Continued prayers for the little guys and their family.  I don't know much else, but my cousin should be able to go home Friday.
