Magic Beans

This goat wanted to eat my camera, I think!

<3 Looks like a heart <3

He was not a fan of the helmet.

First horse ride!

Storms coming in

I was out taking Allie potty yesterday when I found this guy on our street.

Sean donned gloves (I think turtles carry salmonella) and walked him over to our pond.  :)
Our friend Kari invited us to an open house on Saturday night at Magic Beans Foundation in Safety Harbor.  They do therapy riding and she volunteers there.  She also owns a horse that lives there.  Ryan had a lot of fun and I think he liked riding the horse, although when the horse stopped to do its business, Ryan did say "down, down", but he didn't seem scared or anything.  He just didn't like wearing the hat.  I thought it was really neat because it felt like we were out in the country, not in Safety Harbor!  They had goats, rabbits, and cows, too.

Daddy's 31st birthday 06-23-11

Birthday boy.  He picked Red Robin for his birthday dinner

Mom and son.  First birthday spent together in looooonnnnngggg time

Hey, mommy and son again :)

La familia

Now this is funny!  Red Robin came up behind Ryan when we first got there and scared him!!!!  Ryan turned around and just didn't know what to do.  He was so scared.  I guess this was the first time he had seen an oversized costumed mascot.  The whole rest of dinner, Ryan was totally preoccupied with looking for the bird, all he could talk about was the bird, and whenever he would see the bird, he would say "no, no, no, no" and "hug, hug, hug" and "mommy, mommy, mommy" and get real close to me.  Oh my gosh, it was so hard not to laugh.  His reaction and preoccupation with this bird was hilarious.  The whole way home he said he liked the bird and that he would hug and kiss it, but I think he was just talking a big game.  I'm pretty sure if he saw the bird again he would be scared.

Grammy and I made Sean a cake while he was at school.

May God help us to remember

Poem
My hands were busy through the day
I didn’t have much time to play
The little games you asked me to.
I didn’t have much time for you.
I’d wash your clothes; I’d sew and cook,
But when you’d bring your picture book
And asked me please to share your fun,
I’d say “A little later, son.”
I’d tuck you in all safe at night
And hear your prayers, turn out the light,
Then tiptoe softly to the door…
I wish I’d stayed a minute more.
For life is short, the years rush past…
A little boy grows up so fast.
No longer is he at your side,
His precious secrets to confide.
The picture books are put away;
There are no longer games to play.
No good-night kiss, no prayers to hear,
That all belongs to yesteryear.
My hands, once busy, now are still.
The days are long and hard to fill.
I wish I could go back and do
The little things you asked me to!

Lime Chicken Tacos

1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
3 T lime juice
1 T chili powder
1 C frozen corn
1 C chunky salsa
12 flour tortillas

Toppings of your choice.  We did lettuce, tomato, and cheese.

Makes 12 tacos

Place chicken in CrockPot and combine lime juice and chili powder.  Pour over chicken.  Cover and cook 5-6 hours.

Remove chicken and cool slightly.  Shred and return to CrockPot.  Stir in corn and salsa.  Cover and cook on low for 30 mins.

Enjoy!  This was sent to me by my dear friend Nicole (like a year ago) and we just made it!  It was REALLY GOOD and REALLY EASY!!!!

Evening Walk

I don't know what kind of flower this is, but I love them!

This guy decided to come say hi.  He was the friendliest little kitty.  :)

We would have stayed until sunset, but yesterday was the longest day of the year, so we had to get the babies home for bedtime.

Grammy and I took the babies to the beach yesterday.  Then after dinner last night, the whole family went down to this park on the water and we had a very nice walk.

Father's Day

oldest live oak in Pinellas County (5-600 yrs old)

We went to a Brazilian steakhouse, per Sean's Daddy Day request, and then for a walk through Safety Harbor.  However, looking at the strolller you would think we were on a 3 day trip!

Mom's blog

So I definitely come from my mom!  lol As soon as I was done posting, I looked at my mom's blog and she had pictures up from the fire.  Her's are pretty amazing.  Check them out!

Fire

I took these in December when we were out in  Arizona visiting my mom and step-dad.

And these were sent by my mom a few days ago.  The pics aren't that great (NOT taken by my mom), but I think you can get the general idea.

Praise the Lord; although much of the land and homes are being consumed by the fire, the cross is still standing!  Prayers for the loss and for the people that live there though of course.
