Winter Storm Octavia

It started sleeting/snowing about 6 am on Monday morning and continued on almost nonstop for 24 hours.  Sean got off school early yesterday and had today off.  I was supposed to work yesterday from 7-3, but my boss let me go home at 11.  Both Sean and I had some slipping and sliding on our drive home, but we both made it safe.  Sean did get the truck stuck in the driveway, and it's still stuck.  It is beautiful outside.  Thank the Lord, we have not lost power.  It hasn't reached above 33 today so most of it has stuck around.  We are expecting negative temps coming our way over the next couple of days and maybe more snow.  We will see.  I heart the snow!

The Inn at Christmas Place

When we first moved here in 2012 and I came up to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area for the first time, I right away noticed this place and wanted to stay here so bad.  We even came and walked around the lobby one day.  So this was my big surprise! Staying at the Inn at Christmas Place for the weekend!  It has been amazing!  We've enjoyed our time here and we've enjoyed each other.  We went and saw a movie, we went shopping at the outlet malls, we've eaten out, we walked around Gatlinburg, we've hung out with Santa and we've even had milk and cookies!  We are about to go in the pool and hot tub and tomorrow we are going to go to morning services at a local church.  It has been so relaxing.  We miss the kids bunches, but Sean and I are taking in every minute of this!

The start of my surprise anniversary weekend and what a good way to start it! With starbucks and my lovely husband.  

10 Years!

Yesterday, February 12th, was our 10 year wedding anniversary!  I'm a bit sleepy today, but my first day of surprises was much fun!  I got a new Pandora charm and then Sean surprised me with a Valentine's dinner with our church.  About 10 couples went to eat at Littons (best burgers!!!!) while some of the older girls watched our kids back at church.  Kim Nafziger decorated the private party room beautifully and had a few fun games that we played, including the Newlywed game.  That one was a lot of fun!  Sean also surprised me with a cake and candles and everyone sang Happy Anniversary to us.  It was just a great evening of fellowshipping and spending time together as a couple. 


Sean also surprised me yesterday with telling me to pack my bags because we are going away for the weekend.  Andrea Warren will be here at 2 today to watch the kids until Sunday.  I have no idea where we are going. 


I'd say the hubby is doing a pretty fantastic job thus far!!! 


HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LOVEY! 

MRI

Andrew's MRI is scheduled for March 3rd at 8 am.  He will have to be sedated and the procedure will take an hour to an hour and a half.  He is having the MRI done in preparation to see the neurologist about the possibility of Chiari malformation.  Please pray for our little man!  Thank you!

A Few Flurries

It was cold but I took the boys out to play today and we got to enjoy a day of on and off flurries.  As you can see, there was really nothing to show for it, but I will take what I can get.  It's still pretty to watch.  There were little snowflakes landing on my black coat and I marveled at the intricacies of God's handiwork and His attention to detail.  Beautiful.
