Crystal River

We are having a really good time! Allie was all excited because she was able to leave the house with us and she was really excited to go to Aunt Michelle's, but when we were leaving her there, she ran to my car, thinking she was going again, so that was kinda sad because she gave us those irresistible puppy dog eyes when she saw that she was not coming. I know she is having fun though.

So, we arrived and checked in to our hotel. Quaint, clean and roomy. We have a full kitchen. We went to the visitor's center in Homosassa and looked around. We then tried to leave to go eat, but apparently I left my keys somewhere and so we spent a good 15 minutes trying to find them. I can be such an airhead at times. Eventually, we found them. Someone had turned them into the lady at the gift shop. We went down to the river and ate lunch. There was a lot of boaters pulling up and getting out to eat and drink. There were just a ton of people. All the food was fried. Hey, we are in the south! After lunch, we went to monkey island to see monkeys of course! We went to a fallen heroes monument and then to a park to walk on the boardwalk. The trail walk was short lived b/c we were swarmed by mosquitoes. I had gone to Walgreens and picked up bug spray, BUT left it at the hotel! We went down to the docks and then to a little beach on the river. There were danger signs there about not recommending people swimming in the river and to shower immediately after exiting the polluted body of water. Any way, we did not go in there. No thanks. Swim at your own risk! We drove around and sight-see'd and came back to our room and ate pizza. Now I sit here. It has been a fabulous day!

More tomorrow and pics later!

OK, this is the last time I am going to say this, I swear! I am super excited to go to Crystal River with Sean and Dad! Is there a better word or at least a different word than "excited" because I certainly say it a lot? I need a thesaurus. I think it's a thesaurus that tells different words with the same meaning. Hmmmm. Maybe not though. OK, ADD moment. Bringing myself back. I am always a little strange in the morning when I have just peeled my eyelids apart and have only had 10 sips of java. So, I guess it is better to use the word "excited" a lot; it is better than using a negative word like "disappointed" I am certainly NOT disappointed to go to Crystal River today!

Allie will be staying with Aunt Michelle, Uncle Dave and Maxy- Max (their pup).

We had a pretty relaxing night at home yesterday. We watched Ella Enchanted on the Disney Channel. It was so good! Really cute story.

OK, off to get ready for my stay-cation. (got this nifty little word from watching the Today Show).

Really lame this morning.

Hi Becca!

Becca was really missing my daily posts so I thought I would write one! :O)

I was off work today so I have done a lot of stuff around here and some errands and even managed to squeeze in a mani/pedi.

Did I ever mention that I have the best hubby in the world!? He had yesterday off and he took care of so much stuff, including stuff for me. He took my car in for it's 30,000 mile checkup and picked it up. And dropped me off and picked me up from work and cooked dinner for us. And he got a filling at the dentist and stopped by the OB to get me free prenatals (how exciting is that?). He also went to the VA for an appointment. We are resubmitting a claim because of his headaches, which could mean that they will always provide free care for him regarding this issue, we could get back pay from 11/2006 and we could get more added on to our current monthly disability. It would be nice. While he was there, they said they feel like he might have a traumatic brain injury, but they aren't sure. I hope not.

OK, have to do some homework now. More later.

It's All Good!

The doctor called this morning on my way out the door and guess what!!!!???? My PAP results came back completely normal! Sean and I are ecstatic! Thank the Lord! YAY!! Baby Time! :)

Super Sunday!

Sunday was great for us. We went to church and took care of the nursery. We ate lunch at church as well. We went to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and saw dolphins, an otter, sea turtles, fish, sharks, sting rays. We even got to touch the sting rays. Went to the Humane Society for a bit. Went to the Cinema Drafthouse and saw Tropic Thunder. Stupid, but silly movie. Went to bds Mongolian Grill. SO good. You fill a bowl with meat, veggies, sauces and spices and then go up to a huge grill and watch them cook it for you. It was not very expensive either and tasted delicious. Came home and packed and vegged in front of the TV.

Went by the town home. Not much of an update. We are closing Sept 17th! They were painting inside and the front door on the outside, the garage door and the garage floor.

School starts today. I am a little nervous. I am in the vet tech program now!!!!!!!!!!! The class I am taking this semester is vet tech terminology.

Getting Hitched!

My mom is getting married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike's (her hubby, but not legally) divorce was finalized a few weeks ago and so now my mom and him are able to get married for real. They had a commitment ceremony about 5 or so years ago and they definitely basically are already married, but now it will be a recognized marriage.

Not sure when the big day is. They plan to have their wedding at their church out in Arizona.

We are just so excited for them and can't wait to be there for it.

Love ya guys!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I am getting a step-dad!

Nothing to Say

No news really. After work yesterday we ate dinner at where else but Capogna's with my dad and grandparents and showed them my scrap books. Today Sean and I both work. We are getting some good rain. Some of the rain bands from who else but Fay have been on top of us all morning. We have gotten the most rain to date as of this morning than any other single day from Ms. Fay. Kinda crazy! She prevented us from working out this morning, but I got to relax, so it was a nice change. Have a great weekend!

No Catchy Title

My yesterday off was good. I had a lot of quiet time to get things done around the house, run some errands, pack some and surf the web.........a lot.

Only one thing really was not good yesterday. I called SPC to straighten out my graduation flub up and the first lady directed me to Dr. Griffin. Dr. Griffin certainly isn't the nicest lady in the world. I tried to explain what took place, but she tended to want to interrupt me, talk above me and really not care about the situation in general. She contacted the guidance counselor that helped me (well, really didn't help me or I wouldn't be in this mess) and this lady had the nerve to say that she told me which Humanities classes I could take and gave me a sheet of paper on it. She also recorded in the computer that I didn't want to take a Humanities class and that I would just go into the vet tech program and get my AS and forget about my AA. Not true! Dr. Griffin said well if you have that piece of paper that says New Testament Survey on there then I will think about putting in an appeal request, but if you don't have that paper, then absolutely not. I then tell her how I went back at the end of July to the same guidance counselor who told me my graduation was complete and I missed walking in July, but could walk in December. Dr. Griffin puts me on hold. I wait. A long time. She finally comes back on the line and says there are also notes in the computer about this visit. The notes say that the guidance counselor told me graduation was complete, I missed walking in July, but could in December. SO, now Dr. Griffin has to talk to somebody Leopold and she said she would get back to me. I am hoping and praying that they will put an appeal in for me and I will be able to graduate. Not to toot my on trumpet, but c'mon I have 265 credits (takes like 70 to get an AA), a 3.272 GPA and I am a good student!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not trying to cheat their system or lie to them. I was very upset and cried about it, but now I am feeling optimistic that everything will be good and I will be able to get my degree and walk in December.

Signs From God?

I was a little late for my OB-GYN app yesterday b/c school is back in session and I guess Dunedin elementary and middle don't start until 10 am! What do working parents do? I don't get it. That seems awfully late to start school every morning. What if parents have to be at work by 8 or 9, which is a normal start time for jobs?

Any way, back to what I started to say, Dr. Paolillo said that everything looked and felt good. I had a repeat PAP, which I should receive results back within 7- 10 days. He said Sean and I had 2 options. We could continue to use condoms until the PAP results come back in or we could stop using protection and start trying to conceive again. If the PAP comes back normal, then great news, it's baby making time! :O) I would just have to have another repeat PAP in December. If PAP comes back abnormal, then really bad news. this would mean more biopsies and procedures and probably no baby making time. We are hoping and praying for normal test results. He said if we conceived before the test results and then on top of that if they were to come back abnormal, then we would be in big trouble b/c we wouldn't be able to move ahead with more biopsies and procedures, but it is probably pretty unlikely that we will get pregnant in 7-10 days and have abnormal test results. Possible, but unlikely. After much prayer and concrete signs from God (I'll explain in a moment), we decided to stop using protection and start trying to get pregnant.....again. I am very nervous about the results, but I am trying to be optimistic. Oh, so back to God really talking to me yesterday. I was pretty upset after leaving the app b/c I don't want more bad news with the results and Sean and I really want to get pregnant. Well, I am on my way to work trying to figure out our best decision on whether we should start trying again, when a BIG van drives past me that says in huge letters (like not a bumper sticker, but the whole van was painted) "ARE YOU PREGNANT?". Then, I arrive to work a little early and I am praying and trying to collect myself, really wanting to cry, and in a bad mood. I bow my head to pray and take some deep breaths when I notice on my scrub top "new mom". Oh come on, either cruel jokes are being played on me or God is shouting at me that it is time to welcome a little one into me and Sean's life. Here's to hoping it is the latter and not the former.

Weather, SPC, OB-GYN

No Faye for us. Well not this time, but she might be coming back. Crazy weather. I'm over it. All we have had is wind and one little shower. The temps are cooler b/c of cloud cover though.

So I got a letter from school stating that my graduation application didn't go through because I am lacking Humanities credits. What crap! That is the whole reason I took a summer class......to fulfill my Humanities credits in order to graduate. I was told this by a guidance counselor. They must be confused. I will be calling them tomorrow on my day off.

I have an OB-GYN appointment this morning before work. I will update tomorrow.

Fay

We are under a hurricane watch right now. The keys have evacuated and Sarasota has already announced a state of emergency. Meteorologists still don't know the path of Fay and won't until later today. It is still in Cuba and when it gets into the warm open waters, many things can happen. They think it might have moved a little more NE than NW, which is better for us, in terms of the waves and stuff, but it looks like we will know way more later on today. It is still a tropical storm, but they think it will become a category 1 by the time it gets here. The next 36 hours should be interesting. It is gorgeous now and it was actually a little cool on our morning walk/run. Don't know if from the storm or what.

The Bucs beat the Pats in pre-season last night. Dad, uncle and cousin were at the game. We were offered free tix, but it was a night game and we have to work today and would have been home too late last night.

We had church yesterday. Then we did a beach drive. We went to Clearwater Beach, Sand Key, Indian Ricks, Madeira, Treasure Island, Reddington Shores and Bch, Pass-A-Grill, Pasadena, Bellair, St. Pete Bch. We stopped at the bird sanctuary, the Don Cesar Hotel, a winery and we got ice cream cones. Then we came home, packed some, went swimming and watched some of the football game and the Olympics.

Dad's smoking a nasty cigar right now. One of the things I can't wait to change about our new place. No smoking inside! I can barely breathe. Yuck!

Beach Dayz

I love our Saturdays off together!

We relaxed around here before heading up to the Humane Society to volunteer.

We are pet sitting for Lucy and Larry. It is a Shih Tzu named Angel. We have watched him a few times. So we were going to take them for a walk and Angel freaks out(in a bad way) even seeing his leash. It took us forever to get his leash attached to his collar and then on the walk we had to kinda force him to actually walk. I have never seen a dog that did not like to go for walks. Strangest thing ever. He was really scared. I don't get it.

Even though I said I would never join myspace or facebook, well, I guess I lied. I am on facebook now and oh no it is addicting. I have been missing out all this time! Still no myspace for me though.....yet.

Any way after the Humane Society we went to Safety Harbor and got Starbucks and walked around the quaint little downtown area and looked in the shops. Then we went to the Whistle Stop Grill. I have been craving their BLFGT (bacon, lettuce, fried green tomato) sandwich for weeks. It's delicious.

It looks like Tropical Storm Fay is headed our way. Should be interesting.

God bless!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Times

I was pretty proud of myself. There was a big Black Racer snake in our bushes the other day while I was unloading the groceries and it didn't scare me into the house to never return outside again, like the slithery thing would have affected me in the past. Slowly but surely I will get over this fear.

My sis in law Courtney is soon to be engaged. YAY! Sean and I are very happy for her and excited for her, as well!!!!!

I had to get a background check done for the vet tech program and it came back all clear. Back in 2001 or 2002, I made a horrible decision and tried to drive home after having some drinks, which resulted in a DUI. Definitely not my proudest moment and it is still hard to even admit to it. Any way, they couldn't find it on my record anywhere. That is kinda weird, but I guess I shouldn't question it too much.

My husband has the day off from work. He deserves it! I have to be in at 9.

No work, all play

Yesterday was a day off from work for me; not for the hubby. :(

I went to look at our house. We got lighting installed throughout, sinks, toilets, faucets, the tile is finished, a dishwasher, deck railings and I think that's it. We have been faced with a dilemma. We have too much stuff and not enough space. I didn't think it was going to be possible, but dad has given us a lot and I guess we had more than we thought, so we are going to have to figure out what to take and what to sell in our garage sale. I know it will all work out just fine. I don't want our house to be cluttered and too full, but I can also be sort of a pack rat so it will be hard to let things go.

We both went to the dentist yesterday and got our teeth cleaned. It was a new place and I liked it. The dentist actually recognized me. She went to Dunedin and graduated a year after me. Wow! She has done a lot in 9 years! Good news is my teeth look great and there was no mention of $6000 worth of crowns like my last dentist had wanted to do! Sean, however, has a cavity. Poor baby!

I also got the 18 stitches out of my hip yesterday. All is well and the biopsy came back as a cyst so that's good! I have a pretty nice scar.

I went grocery shopping and cleaned then house.

I also went to the mall and bought 3 new Bucs shirts for the new season. I am super excited for football. I also got a new itrip to play my ipod in the car, but the stupid thing doesn't work and its brand new. Sean will be taking it back tomorrow. Oh and I got Starbucks. :O) That's the end of my $25 gift card....wah!

Sunday

We took care of the babies in the nursery at church yesterday.

We tried to get the key to the town home twice yesterday, but to no avail, as no one was in the office. We did get landscaping done by the entryway and on the back side near our deck. We have our very own palm tree in the front! My favorite!

We volunteered at the Humane Society. There are about 50 kittens there!

We got Starbucks.

We picked up Allie and took her to Hammock Park to walk on the trails. Well, the mosquitoes bit the heck out of her. She had about 50 bites all over her body. She is better today and they are all gone. We were very worried. Last night when we went to bed she was chasing nonexistent bugs around the room for like 45 minutes so I think she was a little traumatized!

We went in the pool for a bit and watched We Are Marshall (awesome movie), ate jambalaya for dinner and packed some more boxes for our upcoming move!

Another great day! :O)

Sea Cows

Sean and I both worked yesterday, which I really enjoy working Saturdays. The day flies by. I worked from 8:45 to 1:45. I am the only one up front on Saturdays.

I came home and did stuff around the house and then went to Starbucks for coffee for me, dad and Sean at the mall.

Sean and I decided to plan a trip for Labor Day weekend since we are off Sat, Sun and Mon. Sean, Dad and I are going to Crystal River (about 2 hours or so from here). We will stay from Sat until Mon. We reserved our room and our manatee excursion. We get to swim with manatees!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited. It should be very fun. The boat leaves at 6 in the morning. They take you out and give you all your snorkeling gear and then you get in the river and swim and play with manatees and you can even touch them. Love it! Crystal River is a small town north of here on 19.

Sean and I used a gift card from our BDs and went to Bahama Breeze for dinner and a drink. Yum. We sat outside by the water on the causeway in Tampa and had good food and watched the birds, planes take off, the boats, the water, the sunset. Very nice.

So, funny story. I noticed that Adrienne's name was in our computer system at work, so I texted her and asked her about it. Apparently, she worked there for about 5 years and was also Dr. Supow's (my boss and owner of the clinic) nanny. What a small world!

We watched some of the Bucs first preseason game (they won/beat the Dolphins) and some of the Olympics last night after din din.

What a great day~

Sick bird/Sick Grandfather

Just a quick note that granddad went home yesterday. He ended up staying for 2 nights. On Thursday after work and a family meal at Capogna's we went and saw him. He was convinced that the nurses and docs were trying to kill him and he was very confused and kept ripping his IVs out and trying to leave the hospital. His hand is pretty black and blue and swollen, as is his nose. But he is back home now.

The Olympics are on and it is exciting to watch. The opening ceremony was very cool.

Sean and I are taking care of one of the birds next door who is sick. It was malnourished at its last home and it tried to lay an egg, but couldn't. She starting bleeding and having diarrhea so Jeff and Dee took her to the vet where they removed the broken shelled egg from her. She is on oral antibiotics, which Sean and I are administering twice daily, which has proved to be a little challenging. I think she is going back to the vet today because she is still not doing so great.

Sean and I are both working today.

Grandpa

Yesterday was my grandma's BD. I had to work until 7:30, so I figured we would not be able to make it to her party, but I wanted to call dad when I got off work. Unfortunately when he got on the phone he told me that him, my grandparents and my uncle and aunt were in the ER. They were all meeting at Smokey Bones to celebrate and dad had let my grandparents out at the front b/c my grandma can't get around too well. From there, things get really strange. Dad waits for them to get out of the car and away from it before proceeding on to park. Just as soon as he took his foot off the brake, granddad starts banging on the car window. Dad slams on the brakes. Then my grandpa starts stumbling around and walking back towards the restaurant entrance and he looks all woobly and drunk (he was not drunk though). Then he falls face first into the concrete. He was a little in shock. He busted up his nose, maybe broke his hand and had a laceration under his eye. The ambulance took him to the ER. My family was still there after 11 p.m. last night. They decided to keep granddad overnight. The docs did a CT scan, which looked OK. I guess granddad has been very agitated and yelling at the nurses and screaming and getting upset (he has Alzheimer's). Hopefully, we will know more today, he is OK and able to go home. We still don't know what originally happened. It sounded very scary though and I just hope he is OK.

Paper work, Scrapbooking....oh....and Drug Testing

I had yesterday off from work. My day started with the usual get stuff done around the house and make sure Sean is taken care of before he goes off to work. I then went to get drug tested. It is a requirement upon entrance into the vet tech program. Mapquest gave me totally wacky directions and so that was not cool, but I did get a scenic drive, which was nice. The water looked gorgeous and so was the day. It was crazy there. They won't let anyone accompany me to the lab (not that I was trying to bring anyone with me), they wouldn't let me wash my hands after peeing or flush the toilet or carry my purse and they made sure I wasn't stashing anything in my pockets. It made me feel uncomfortable even though I was not smuggling in someone else's urine, nor do I do drugs.

After that I drove all over Dunedin and Clearwater trying to find a place to notarize paperwork for school. That took forever, but I finally got it done.

Then I came home and scrap booked from 11 to 5:30!!!!! I got my book done on our town home (well it is up-to-date, there of course will be more pics). I also got a book done from our trip to AZ and then another book done of just random stuff. I heart scrap booking!

The 2 dogs we were pet sitting left yesterday after staying with us for 2 1/2 weeks. My dad was thrilled to see them go. The owner gave us $240 (an extra $40 than what she really owed us so that was cool). It went straight to our "moving to Sierra Vista, AZ" fund. Now we have $451 and we only started saving less than a month ago! YAYA!!

I watched the Tori and Dean marathon all yesterday afternoon and last night and we had steaks on the grill. Yum!

It was a very productive, nice day off. :O)

Bye-Bye weekend, Hello new week

I was super tired yesterday so we decided I needed caffeine and a lot of it. So, we had a gift card for Starbucks, but we also wanted to get out for a bit yesterday so we drove to International Mall in Tampa to get coffee....venti coffees. Yes, we drove to Tampa for coffee, but also to walk around the mall and window shop and get some exercise without all the heat. That mall is really nice and there is every store you can imagine and it is a huge mall! Right now at Radio Shack they have a deal going on where you can get TiVo for free as long as you sign up for the monthly service. We are considering it. It sounds pretty good to me. After walking around for a few hours we came back home and packed some and ate dinner. Then we watched Hotel Rwanda. What a sad movie, but it was very good. I got really good zzzz's last night and am feeling very refreshed this morning. Here's to a fabulous Monday!

10 years!

We've had a great weekend. Yesterday we slept in, like 9 hours of sleep. Yum! Did some stuff around the house, washed my car inside and out, Sean got a haircut, went to the grocery store. Spent time with the el gatos at the Humane Society. Went by Staples b/c we had like 30 free dollars so we stocked up on stuff. We also got We Are Marshall. It is one of the movies Staples sells that after it has been watched (it will play for 2 days after opened), then it erases the movie and the DVD is thrown away. We came home and got ready for the reunion. I got to wear the dress that Sean gave me for Christmas back in December. Loved it! We went to my coworkers welcome home party. It was a lot of fun. Then we went to my 10 year reunion at Blur in downtown Dunedin. It was also fun and good to see people I haven't seen in a while. Of course great to see Tiff. She is down from New York for like 10 days with her boyfriend Ryan. Hopefully we will get to spend a lot of time together this visit.

Today was church. Then we went by the town home and got a key from the office. We have cabinets and counter tops in bathrooms and kitchen, a doorbell, smoke detectors and can lights throughout the house, shelving in all the closets, the rest of the tile was put in throughout the wet areas, our water heater was put in and the rest of the door knobs and light switches and our stairwell railing. We are very pleased with it!

Here's a pic of me and my BFF Tiff.......love her, gorgeous girl!
