Feelings I can't put into words

"When my children were small, I remember the deep satisfaction of watching them sleep.  Sometimes the day had been filled with problems and disobedience, but asleep they looked contented, secure, and peaceful, and I was reminded of how much I love them.

My children didn't have to do anything for me to enjoy them.  I was happy to just watch them breathing, because I loved them so much.  As their little chests would rise and fall, I'd smile, and sometimes tears of joy filled my eyes.

Relaxing!

Crazy as this may sound, we didn't have any plans this weekend!!!!!  That hasn't happened since recovering from the C section!!!!!  Any way, it has been nice and relaxing and it came at the perfect time!  We discovered yesterday that Lifetime.com opened up all of season 3 of Army Wives in celebration of season 4's premiere Sunday night at 10 p.m.  Well, season 3 is the only season we haven't seen so we decided to watch ALL 18 episodes by tomorrow night so we can see season 4's premiere tomorrow night and because they will only keep season 3 episodes on the web until season 4 starts.......so we have seen 8 so far....10 to go....we can do it!!!!  hee hee Any way, we took a break from being couch potatoes and went for a walk.  We decided to feed the ducks in our neighborhood pond.  We thought Ryan would enjoy it.  As you can maybe see by the pics, Ryan enjoyed eating the bread himself and NOT giving it to the ducks.  Silly baby!  The ducks still did get some though!  Oh and BTW God has given us a gorgeous day!!!!!!!!! xoxo

This & That

My surprise when I got home from school!  Dozen roses with card that read "because you deserve it; beautiful roses for my beautiful wife!" :)

We have a friend in TX that we have never met that sends us boxes of hand-me-downs for the lil man every couple of months.  She is such a blessing1  Any way, we got a package from her today...and Ryan loved the box....not what was in it, but the actual box....and sitting in it!

Opening day for baseball and my ATL Braves were playing Sean's team the CHI Cubs.  Braves won!  :) But I surprised Sean by dressing Ryan in Cubs stuff....come to think of it, maybe that's why I got the roses!  hee hee  Well, it was worth it then.  GO BRAVES!

Happy Resurrection Day

HAPPY EASTER!  We woke up bright and early and went to the sunrise service at our church and then had a BIG breakfast there.  Yums!  We relaxed at home most of the day and I made homemade mac-n-cheese to bring to the Great-Gram's house.  The whole fam went over there for dinner.  Then our lil fam went for a walk by the water.....realized we got to see the sun rise and the sun set all in one day......pretty cool! O and I cut Sean's hair for the very first time!  We bought clippers to save money on haircuts (for him of course....I'm still going to get mine done!  lol).......any way, I think I did a pretty good job on his high and tight.....prob wouldn't have been acceptable if he were still in the Corps, but for a civi cut....not too bad!

Plumb - In My Arms

your baby blues
so full of wonder
your curly Qs
your contagious smile
and as i watch
you start to grow and
all I can do is hold you tight

knowing
clouds will rage and
storms will race in
but you will be safe
in my arms
rains will pour down
waves will crash around
but you will be safe
in my arms

story books are full of fairy tales
of kings and queens and the bluest skies
My heart is torn
just in knowing
you'll someday see
the truth from lies

when the
clouds will rage and

Castles they might crumble
dreams may not come true
but you are never all alone
because I will always
always love you

I just had to share this song.  Here are the lyrics and a link to the song.  It is so incredibly sweet and gets me a little teary, I have to say.  With Ryan soon to be a 1-year-old, I'm feeling like time has just gone so quickly and already my precious new baby boy is growing into his own little person.  This song is exactly about that......a mother with a new child, and realizing that she won't always be able to protect him.  Her voice is absolutely beautiful.  It's bittersweet.....I thank God every day for another day with my son and I pray for many more (like 1,000 years!)  with him and I'm so thankful to celebrate his first birthday, but at the same time I just am a little sad at the fact that it has already been a year!!!!!!!!   I want to protect him, to shield him from this world, to teach him about the magnificent love God has for him, to show him God's mercy and grace.  Being a mother is just indescribable......joy, pain, love, sadness, excitement, fear.  What a blessing to be given this child.
