God's Goodness

I went for my 2nd interview at a psychiatric hospital called Windoor yesterday and I got the job!!!! I will be working as an admissions RN. I will work Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Then I will have 5 days off. We are very excited. It is really a blessing, too, because even though it is only 24 hours a week, it is still considered full-time. I will have health insurance, vision, and dental (I don't have health insurance right now). I will also have paid sick and vacation days. Because I am working the weekends, I also get weekend pay, which is really nice. I start a week's worth of orientation in October, then 2 weekends worth of shadowing, and then if I am comfortable, I will start on my own. I don't like to be away from my boys, but doing 2 days a week isn't bad and I am excited that I will get to be a working RN. And we have such an amazing, loving God, who really cares about us and hears the desires of our hearts. Sean has been working 25 hours a week in the VA office at school, plus doing 2 days a week of classes. We were a little concerned because that would mean not much time together, but yesterday he was offered the job of being the VA sevices president at school, which means he can do most of his work from home, which means he will still get the 25 hours week of pay, but not have to be there much, which means more time for our family. God is mighty God!!!!

San Fran, California

Gold man.  There was also a silver man and a bush man.  The bush man hides behind fake bushes in the middle of the city on the sidewalk (where buushes would not be) and scares passerbys.  I happened to be one of those such passerbys!  NOT FUNNY!

Alkatraz

Typical fog in San Fran.  It was a beautiful day, though, and actually quite warm.

Ryan loved the sea lions, and so do I!

Golden Gate Bridge

Alkatraz.  We toured this (me and Sean) in 2006.

Someone's pet lizard on a leash.

Boudin is the place to get sourdough!!!!  This was my 3rd time to San Fran and my 3rd time to this restaraunt.  It is a must!!!!  This alligator was made from sourdough.

Ryan enjoyed his grilled cheese on sourdough at Boudin.  A few minutes later a pigeon would come flying at him and run into the glass window and scared the bajeebies out of the poor little guy!

Yup, we visited here, and yup we got some chocolate!

Cable cars

We enjoyed our day in San Fran.  This was my 3rd time there and I have never seen it as busy as it was.  There were a ton of people, too many for my liking.  I am a country girl and not a city girl, but we still had fun and really enjoyed walking around.  The day was gorgeous.  Oh, and BTW, if wondering why I haven't posted pictures from the wedding or of Ryan as the ring bearer, well, it's because I was unable to take any that day.  I was too busy with the boys.  I am hoping that someone will share some with me.  Hint, hint :)

Rehersal dinner and etc

My boys

This is lunch at Red Robin.  Ry had fallen asleep in the car on the way to the restaurant and continued on sleeping right through lunch.  THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR A TODDLER (at least not ours!)  He was super tired!

Some down time at our hotel room.  :)

San Jose, California

grammy :)

Well, I am playing posting catch up because we just got back from a trip to California for my sister-in-law's wedding.  We left the 14th and got back around 130 in the morning on the 20th. We have slowly been readjusting back to EST!!!!  We had just gotten used to Cali time and then it was time to come home.  The 3 hour difference is a real killer!  The boys did great on all the long plane rides.  They also did pretty good, all things considering, on the whole vacay.  The 4 of us were in a smal hotel room.  They also skipped many naps, were out late, and we were also pretty busy.  They were real troopers.  They  fussed and complained at times, of course, but they also enjoyed their trip.  I got to meet some of Sean's family that I had never met before and lots of people got to meet the children for the first time.  Hillary (my sis-in-law, the bride)  was so gracious......her and her new hubby, Ryan.  They bought us diapers and wipes and borrowed tons of baby stuff from their friends for us to use.  She took me, my MIL, and my other SIL out for mani/pedis and they treated dinners and Starbucks.   My MIL and FIL were just as kind and gracious.  Thanks guys!!!!!  We enjoyed a beautiful day at this park and rose garden.  I got to take a ton of pics (as you can see).  lol  It was so peaceful and gorgeous.  If ever in a bad mood, this would be a good place to head!  The weather out there was great, too.  Cool a couple of days, which was a nice break from our weather here.  Ryan fell in the pool at Uncle Ryan's parents house, which was pretty scary because he can't swim, but Uncle Ryan saved him.  :)  He learned and stayed away from it the rest of the time spent at their house.  Ryan was the ring bearer (really, a bear bearer) in the wedding and he did a super job!  The wedding was beautiful, as was the bride and groom, and the reception.  It was fun because I got to get my hair done, too.  My hubby helped Ry walk down the aisle (straight to me) and my hubby looked very handsome, as well.  :)  Sunday pretty much everyone had left and so me and my 3 boys rented a car and spent the day in San Fran (will post those pics later).  We got to eat at our favorite West Coast fastfood place, In-N-Out, on our way out Monday afternoon.  We are happy to be back home, but had a great trip.  CONGRATS HILLARY AND RYAN!
