It's Been Awhile!

This was from about 2 or so weekends ago, but this was our trip up to Gatlinburg on family date day, which was a reward to ourselves for reciting all of Matthew 5 in front of church.  We went to the putt putt course and to the Mirror Maze, out to lunch and out to dinner.  

Camping!

Ryan has been talking about camping for a long time so Sean decided to take him yesterday......all the way to our back yard!  We ate hotdogs on a stick and roasted marshmallows for S'mores.  Then, it turned night and me and the youngest two headed back inside for baths, tick removal, Bible time, and bed time.  In the A/C.  In comfy beds.  Ryan and Sean slept outside in a tent.  In the heat.  And in the rain.  And they LOVED it.  They played Go Fish and Dominos and Angry Birds.  When I last peeked out after midnight, I could still see the light glowing from their flashlights inside the tent.  I missed my hubby, sleeping all by myself, but I am so glad they had that father-son time.   

Breaking the rules....a no-no....feeding my 10-month-old hotdogs.

We celebrated our Easter on Good Friday since I had to work on Sunday. We started out by reading the story of Jesus and his trial, death, and ressurection as a family. Then we went through our Easter baskets. We used plastic eggs for this and filled them with coins and candy. Then we colored eggs. Well, Sean and Ryan did. Hunter just wanted to dump the dye so we went inside. :) Then I hid eggs for the boys (totally obvious places) and did an egg hunt with the newly dyed eggs. Ryan's total count= 11. Hunter = 1. We ended with chicken on the grill, potato salad, deviled eggs, and corn on the cob.

Sunday, the boys went to church and then to Naner's to eat with the family and do another egg hunt. Then, I met them at church after I got off work so we could see the children's Easter play and eat cookies.

It was a great weekend, but the most important reason to rejoice is because He is risen indeed!

Christmas Day!!! Happy Birthday Jesus!

Hunter at Pappy's opening his present.  I missed out on going to Pappy's and some of Grandma's house because I worked Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 7a to 7p, but after work I did go to Grandma's and ate and opened presents and spent time with my family.
