Lasagna

I may get into trouble for sharing this recipe since it is my FIL's creation................

1 c chopped celery
1 c chopped onion
1 grn pepper chopped
1 clove garlic chopped
2 T olive oil
1/2 cooked lasagna
1 # mozzerella sliced
1 # cottage cheese
1 # ground beef
1 # ground Italian sausage
28 oz Italian tomatoes or whole Roma tomatoes
18 oz tomato paste
salt to taste
1 1/4 t sugar
1 1/4 t oregano
1/2 t basil
1 t pepper
grated parmesan cheese

Saute onion, celery, green pepper, and garlic in oil for 5 min.  Add beef and sausage, cook until done.  Add tomatoes, paste, and seasonings.  Simmer 2 hours, stir occasionally.

Preheat oven to 350.  Grease 9 x 13 pan.  Pour layer of sauce, then layer of noodles, then sauce.  Cover with mozzerella, some cottage cheese and parmesan.  Repeat till all is used, finishing with sauce on top.

Bake 35 mins.

This recipe is soooooo good!  It also has a special meaning for me because this is what I made for Sean the day he returned home from deployment.  :)  I know it is one of Sean's favorites since it's his Dad's recipe.  We made two today.......one for us and one for Grandma.  I'm looking forward to dinner!
